Socialization in Chicago
The ability to ignore distractions and focus on the handler. For puppies, rescues, and adult dogs that missed the window.
Socialization is not the same thing as friendliness. A well socialized dog can be in a crowded room, near another dog, near a kid on a scooter, and still focus on you. That's the goal. Your dog learns to ignore the distraction, not engage with it.
We work with puppies inside their critical window, with rescues that missed it, and with adult dogs that were never exposed to anything. The plan looks different for each. A puppy needs careful first impressions. A reactive adult needs distance and structure before we get anywhere close to the trigger. Either way, the outcome is a dog that can go anywhere with you.
